Dingle, Co Kerry
As the marine pollution response contractor for DAFM at Dingle, LCF was engaged to remove oil, diesel, and other waste materials from the stricken fishing vessel 'Fastnet'.
The operation was particularly challenging due to adverse weather conditions and tidal restrictions, and the work had to be completed within a narrow window before further deterioration in weather.
Through a rapid and carefully coordinated response, approximately 67,000 litres of hydrocarbons were successfully removed and disposed of before they could enter the marine environment, preventing significant environmental impact.
