Poolbeg, Co Dublin
LCF was engaged to carry out various remedial works at NORA's Poolbeg Jetty. The scope of work included the following:
Decommissioning of Redundant Equipment: This involved safely decommissioning redundant loading arms and associated plant equipment. Prior to starting, LCF removed all oil and hazardous materials from the equipment to prevent any environmental risks.
Fendering System Replacement: LCF designed and installed a new fendering system. Greenheart timber was measured, cut, and drilled in-house before installation. Cone fenders were also installed with the fixing system being designed by our team.
Lighting Upgrades: The project included the replacement and refurbishment of both street lighting and navigation lighting at the jetty.
Bridge Walkways and Steelwork Repairs: Sections of the bridge walkways were replaced, and repairs were carried out on the bridge’s steelwork and railings.
General Repairs: Other general repairs were conducted to ensure the overall integrity and safety of the jetty.
The focus on removing environmental hazards and customizing key components such as the fendering system highlights LCF’s thorough and environmentally conscious approach to the project.
